I carried regret and shame for too long

In my early 20s, I made a choice I once said I never would—I chose to abort my first child. That decision didn’t just leave me with lasting grief; it also marked me with a quiet shame I didn’t know how to escape.

For years, I believed that choice disqualified me—from closeness with God, from being used by Him, and from stepping into the life He had for me.

But God, in His mercy, didn’t leave me there.

What I never expected is that He would use that very place of brokenness to lead me into counseling and ministry.

Today, my heart is to come alongside women—especially those who feel disqualified by their past—and gently speak God’s truth so they can experience healing, walk in freedom, and live with purpose for His glory.

Hi, I’m Lesley

First and foremost, I love Jesus. He became my Lord and Savior when I was about 10yrs old. When He did, I became passionate about living for Him and serving Him. I believe that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life and that no one comes to the Father except through Him. His grace is sufficient for me and I will always gladly boast of Him and His great love.

I’m a Chicago city girl who married a Minnesota farm boy, and now we live in the country just outside of Green Bay. We met in college, and I was completely oblivious to his pursuit of me, which, honestly, made it all the more fun for him.

Dave and I been married for many years, and the Lord has blessed us with 3 adult children and wonderful spouses, along with 7 grand babes and one grand-pup. Two of our children live nearby, which means we get to see them often, and I have the joy of watching a couple of my grand-babes each week. I am deeply grateful for the family God has given me.

When I’m not spending time with my grandbabes or caring for our home, you’ll usually find me counseling or writing. God has given me a deep passion for walking alongside women who carry hidden shame from a past abortion, helping them find healing, freedom, and a renewed life in Christ.

I firmly believe that healing from shame and regret is possible through the application of biblical truth. While much of my work focuses on post-abortive women, this same hope is available to any woman who is silently carrying shame from her past.

One of the greatest privileges of my life is watching God transform pain and suffering into a testimony of His unfathomable glory. If He can redeem my story, He can redeem yours too—and use it for His glory.

Things I thought I’d Never Do

I never thought a guy would like me enough to want to marry me but there was one who did.

I was never going to have sex outside of marriage but I did.

I was never going to choose to have an abortion, yet I did that too.

I never thought that I’d have more than one child but God gave me 3 amazing kids.

I was never going to counsel; even though I graduated with a BA in Psychology. But God’s voice clearly came through one day and He whispered to me that He wanted me to use my most sinful choice for His glory.

I also never thought I’d go on for more school after college, but I did. I have an MA in Biblical Counseling.

I also never thought I would get certified through one of the large organizations within the biblical counseling world, but I did. 2010 I became a Certified Biblical Counselor with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC).

I also never thought I would have kids that lived close to me! I also never could have imagined that I would be so blessed as to have 7 grand babes and that I would get to watch them while their mama’s went to work, but I did.
